Average Price For Preschool?

I'm searching for a decent preschool to put my youngest in but the best preschools cost the most. You'd think with so many preschool aged children, there would be public preschools or schools that have preschool classes in addition to kindergarten. With our economy being so bad right now, there's no way we can afford the best preschool. What's the average cost for sending your child to preschool? I've been calling around and I'm getting prices that range from $78/per week to $460 per week and higher if you wish to enroll your child in classes the school offers such as karate, dance, gymnastics, etc.

Are you talking about 5 full day programs? Most of those around here run from $100-$150/week depending on what all they offer. And if they offer programs like dance or karate, they usually have an additional charge. Good luck on your search.

For full day it's about $250/week. My dd is in preschool 2 days a week - and it's $150/week. It's very expensive here...ugh!

My daughter is in a full day preschool all week and we pay about $200 a week. Although that is comparable to our housing payment we believe its completely worth it bcuz it allows to be able to work and our daughter loves it...plus shes really learning the basics she'll need to Kindergarten...
