I took Emily to the new doctor the other day.

They have a sick and well waiting room . . . BIG plus!!!

The staff was all great.

We DID end up waiting almost 2 hours, but we were there for sick walk-in, which they do twice a day every day. I like the sick walk in . . . don't like the wait. The bonus is that when I tried to make an appt, they could get me in the next week. So it's not like we'd wait FOREVER if we didn't want to do the walk in.

We got seen pretty quickly once we got the the room.

HOWEVER . . . . I couldn't even tell you what the doctor looked like. I already had Emily stripped down because it was warm. I explained to the doctor that I was concerned about pneumonia since it seems like she's had this off and on cold for a while. Emily was asleep because I had just fed her. She didn't even wait until Emily woke up (from me moving her to the table) and just stuck that cold stethoscope on her bare chest and back to listen. She checked her ears and mouth and said, "It's just a cold" as she walked out of the room. WTH???? She didn't spend a full 2 minutes in there . . . . . GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR So very annoying . . . .

Why is it so hard to find a good pedi???

On a good note, Emily is 17 lbs 14 oz!!! She gained 10 oz over the holiday . . . . . . . too many cookies!!!

i think especially if you are a new patient the dr should sit and talk with you about everything

That's what I was thinking. She has NO clue that we breastfeed, or what kind of food I'm giving her, if she can even sit up on her own!!!

im sorry i would actually give it another shot to be honest i mean just one visit isnt really gonna tell you what kind of dr they are ya know. maybe it was an off day? who knows lol

I'm thinking maybe it was just because it was a sick walk-in. Since there were so many perks about the place maybe it would be worth setting up an appt. and try again.

I'm w/ you though, I wouldn't go back, that sucks that you both were treated like that. I think it's hard to find any Dr. w/ people skills!!!!

Well, this is the review of this doctor I found online . . . . . .

"At the time I had no real choice in the doctors I had since my insurance wasn't all that great. This was the only office in Tallahassee that took it in fact. Otherwise I would have defiantly gone elsewhere. Patients are herded in and out like cattle. Stacked up and waiting for over an hour consistently, usually more like 2. If you actually got more than 3 minutes with the doctor, you were lucky. All she did was a very quick look over... hardly ever asked if I had any questions. Seemed more preoccupied with moving on to the next person. And she depended WAY too much on her head nurse. Who was rather good, but not who I came to see."

So it doesn't see to be out of her normal routine!!!

Hopefully you can find someone that will actually pay attention to your kids! Sorry you have to deal with this...
