Naps?
Do your preschoolers take naps still? If so are they everyday? Are they at the same time?

Dallas will only nap if we are in the car. Then she will fall asleep sometimes. Other than that I cannot get one out of her. She can be not able to hold her eyes open or her head up and she will fight and fight and never go to sleep. Trying to make her take one just makes her twice as mean too.

Ethan is the same!!! I can leave him in his room (or mine) in bed for 2 hours, and he'll just lay there, talking to himself, playing with the pillows/covers . . . anything but taking a nap!!! Other times, he'll curl up on the couch and fall asleep. So I don't push it anymore . . .

I wonder if it's the age. Loralei is the same way. Some days she could be so cranky and need a nap, but it's horrible trying to get her to take one, or even to trick her into one lol. But if we get in the car, sometimes she's out not even before we leave the parking lot of some places.

Mackenzie will take a nap about 3 days a week, right after lunch time, in her bed.
I think more than her needing it, I need it!

Does she go and take the nap or do you encourage her to?

It depends...if it's been a few days since she's had one...she will go straight in her room and lay down, I just go in and cover her up and give kisses. But...there have been times that I have to fight her to lay down. These are the days where she's overtired and being cranky though!

Most days Austin still naps, but I have to make him cause he's so grouchy! If we are busy and out and about then he won't. Or he'll cat nap in the car

I can't remember when Natalie stopped napping, but Nicole still naps sometimes, though only about once or twice per week. Nic is 3 1/2 so I think it's about time to stop. I'd prefer her to stop because she goes to sleep much earlier (yay!) when she doesn't nap.

Jonny stopped taking daily naps arouns 20 months!! He needs them desperately but will only do so occasionally. He could be running morning til night and still not nap. he NEEDS to nap! Ive tried everything i can think of but no luck. so he gets 1 1/2 hours downtime in his room. He plays quietly, "reads" his books, etc. At least its a rest!
