I said no, not my cup of tea. Actually I was really interested in reading it after hearing so much hoopla over the darn thing. But then I read a couple of reviews and I've heard the writing is only so-so and it's hard to sympathize with the characters.
Honestly, if it's just about the steamy scenes, you can find those in millions of books who plot lines are just as awful too! I don't know why this one is a whole lot different than any of those.
My choices in reading is a whole lot different now. I just don't read any old piece of crap. It has to get me interested fairly quickly or I'll just put it down and move on! I don't read the junk I used to years ago

I must say I couldn't put the 1st book down after I got past the initial shock. For a second, I considered not reading anymore but I had already bought all 3 books and I wanted to see what the hype was about. I just fell in love with characters. I am reading the last book and it's a bit slow for me but I do intend to finish it. My co-worker is reading the books behind me.

I had no intention of reading it until SNL did a skit on it around Mother's Day. I decided then that I had to read it to find out what all the "fuss" was about.

I ended up reading all three back to back.

I don't think that it was as good as a lot of people say it is but I liked it for the most part.

I voted "Yes but it was a turn off..." although I feel the need to admit I didn't read the whole thing. I read a few chapters of the first book (some from the beginning, one from the middle) and was not interested in reading the rest. I just laughed when she was like, "OMG, this is so-and-so, this awesome wonderful man, and he actually wants little old me!" Too much of that kind of hero-worship talk is a major turn-off for me. Probably why I don't like Twilight either. My sister was a big fan of both Twilight and 50 Shades but I didn't like either one.

Katie, I can't stand Twilight either! The idea of a woman being THAT weak and for me to get behind and like that submission is just not in my bones.
