wow - sounds like you did the right thing! these painkillers can do some crazy stuff, man.

however, i'm glad they gave him tramadol right off the bat, though. it seems to be the only painkiller that actually has a positive effect on him.

he can't take oxycodone or codeine - he's allergic to one and the other makes him stop breathing while he's asleep (which is terrifying). hydrocodone doesn't seem to have any effect on the pain, just makes him drowsy and spaced out. morphine is basically the same effect as hydrocodone, only multiplied (he says he's just in a cloud the whole time).

Everyone is different, so our bodies are going to respond in sometimes totally opposite ways, so I'm really glad Tramadol works for him! Anything to take that edge off for a while.
