#3- What crazy things or great things have you heard since you started announcing to people that you were fostering/adopting?

I wish it was easier to educate people on this topic. It is so frustrating. Just the other day I was watching my niece. We made cookies, played, and did all kinds of fun things. When we had to go for a short ride to deliver some Pampered Chef, she passed out! I took a quick picture and posted it on facebook. The very first reply that I got was, "Is that your foster child?" I thought to my self man, she needed a bath, but how rude to assume she was a foster kid just because she looked messy!! UGGGH this is one of my pet peeves!

Maybe they just didn't know who the child was, and knew you did foster care? I guess I don't see what's wrong with someone asking who a child is on FB...

Is it allowed for a foster parent to talk to one of the birth parents as if they were friends. My stepson's mom is like that with the foster parents who have his sisters so I was jw.
