At the hospital

This is a sore spot. So I just wanted DH there. My parents insisted on being there. I was induced so there I am in pain and crying and contracting and they're sitting there reading the paper + books. They finally got sent home due to failed induction. Sure enough I ended up with an emergency c-section a couple hours later. They got to hold my son before me Because my blood pressure was too low and I was shaking so bad
This time though - they'll be watching DS.

I updated everyone through facebook so I was lucky and only had my mom and dh there. Of course, even though dh specifically told his parents that we would call them when we were ready, they showed up anyway. They had just finished stitching me up and were still cleaning the room and I was trying to nurse for the first time Next time they will not get the call that I've had the baby until we are ready!

I was 16 when I had my daughter so the hallways and waiting rooms were filled with teenagers. They even had pizza delivered. I was way too drugged up to notice if it bothered the other mom's in labor...I feel bad now. Kids get bored during winter break I guess...

It was different with each of my kids. With my oldest who is now 14.. it was me and dh, my parents and my sister all in the room with us. With my 10 yr old it was just me and dh. And with my youngest, it was just me and the nurses.. we got to the hospital and they rushed me up there and barely got the iv in before she came. Hubby was waiting in the waiting room for my brother to pick up my older daughter.
