Question Acid Reflux

Long story short, Addison's doctor says she has acid reflux and to switch formulas this past Friday. As long as the formula switch works and we don't have to try another or add meds, how long does the bubble blowing/drool and ridiculous cough last? I, of course, figured she had a cold because of the cough, but I've come to realize that its only a little while after she eats. AND is the fussiness/crying she experiences part of it to? Sorry about my new mommy moment/questions

A formula change takes about two weeks --if a formula change does the trick. DS' reflux cough didn't go away until he got enough coverage from the medication - no diet change helped it.

Formula changes are hard. So is finding out how to help your baby.

Thanks. Hopefully the formula change does the trick and we wont need meds, but if this cough is still around I'll definitely be calling her doctor.

If the fussiness/crying is within 30 minutes or so after every feeding it is definitely reflux related. Lincoln was TERRIBLY fussy after eating for about 3 weeks or so until we got his reflux under control. The only way to comfort him was walking around b/c I think it sort of distracted him.

Eric had colic and acid reflux. We did the formula switch that didn't work. Then we did the add cereal to the bottle to the point it was like sludge and then he was also put on meds. It got a little better but continued until we started introducing solids. Which he was eating baby food at 4 months. Then it went away. The specialist that we see said that alot of the new studies and thoughts are is that acid reflux is a way for babies bodies to tell their parents that they need solids quicker than most. It is also something that runs in the family!
