So the storms let up but the rain is still here.
We were able to go to the park yesterday during a dry spell, and she had fun climbing up and sliding on the big kid slides. She also learned how to swing. I got her started and taught her how to move her legs to keep herself going. She was mighty impressed with herself.
We came home and she helped me flour and batter thin onion rings for our burgers (see my mom’s diner blog) and she ate more onion rings than we were able to get on our burgers LOL! She really is a character.
She also decided to “wash” dishes (ie. splash in a sink of water) and all of a sudden looked up at me and said “I have to pee!” and tried to climb down her stool and get to the bathroom, but she didn’t make it. Note: make sure that your toddlers are adept at the “holding it” part of potty training. Playing in water and tiny bladders don’t mix! LOL!
Today she is more bored than scared. She’s even bored with her favorite TV shows. (Noggin/Sprout) I’ve moved on to the classics, Flintstones and that stuff.. but it wasn’t cutting it.
She was streaking around naked in her shoes and wearing a pair of ear phones (apparently nakedness is better than boredom), so I decided to introduce her to her big sister’s CD player. I put a disc of kids songs on and plugged in the head phones, only to laugh hysterically as she danced unplugged. That is she preferred the headphones unplugged… uninhibited movement? But the dancing still gave her a chance to work out some energy since she couldn’t go outside to play.
I think my next step entertaining her will be coming up with something fun for dinner.. Just me and her because daddy is playing baseball tonight.
I’ll let you know what we decided on.
BTW, yes, I made her put clothes on before taking the screen image shot lol!
